The Story Behind The Music Joint Group

Elena Rodrigo, the founder of The Music Joint Group, is a pioneer in promoting Latin Alternative Music in the US. With 30 years of industry experience, she has worked with cutting-edge new Latin acts in Latin America, Spain, and the United States. Elena co-founded the first indie label dedicated to U.S. Latin rock talent, Aztlán Records.

During her time as Senior Label Manager at Universal Music Latino, Elena Rodrigo led the Rock Department, spearheading impactful marketing campaigns that propelled the careers of new artists such as Molotov, Juanes, Café Tacvba, Control Machete, Bersuit Vergarabat, Orishas, Babasonicos, IKV, and Mala Rodriguez. She also played a pivotal role in the success of artists at Capitol Latin Records, including Zoé and Enrique Bunbury.

In 2007, Elena created E.R.: M+M, an event promotions and artist development agency offering public relations and college/non-commercial/online radio promotion and consulting services. Her clients included Enrique Bunbury, Enanitos Verdes, Panteón Rococó, Novalima, Mala Rodriguez, Bebe, Black Tide, Disturbed, White Stripes, Pxndx, and many other artists and events such as the stadium sold-out concerts of the reunion of Spanish rock icon Héroes del Silencio and later the reunion of Argentinean rock legends Soda Stereo, as well as the 40th Anniversary of Mexican rock/blues legendary El Tri.

Today, Elena leads The Music Joint Group, which is comprised of an experienced, creative, and active team. It is a multi-service company that focuses on Latin music and the market. The company works with top clients, artists, major festivals, and national tours in the U.S. and Mexico to expand and promote Latin music nationally and reach the general market.
